Lady Warriors dominate Catt.-LV By Brian Cook Sports Editor CATTARAUGUS ‹ After falling behind 4-0, the Lady Warriors (3-0, 6-2) turned on the jets Friday night, holding the Lady Timberwolves scoreless in the third quarter on the way to a 56-15 rout. Catt.-LV went through two scoring droughts of 11 and 13 minutes as Salamanca¹s bench saw ample time. Ashley Abrams scored 14 points in just two quarters, while Lori Acosta had nine, Kayla Siperek added eight, and Katie Auge tossed in seven. Chelsea Cole came on strong with 12 rebounds. Both teams started out cold, until Abrams¹ three-pointer coupled with a Brittany Haines steal and layup gave the visitors a 5-4 edge. The T¹wolves could only muster four points in each of the first two quarters. For Catt.-LV, Kelsey Bever had six, while Jennesa Zimbardi added five. Erin Crandall put in four points to round out the scoring. Salamanca 17 10 20 9 ‹ 56 Catt.-LV 4 4 0 7 ‹ 15 |
